This place was a cozy and peaceful oasis and Ann and Paul are gracious hosts. Would highly recommend!! Rooms were very clean, beds were very comfortable and the views of home literally sits on the river bank. We stumbled on this place and so glad we did - we rarely write reviews but this place is a hidden gem!

This is me and my wife leaving a $213 a night lodge…not only because it was a dump where they basically just leave trash lying around and nowhere does maintenance of any kind exist…but because the owners left town and locked down all the amenities that make the place worth more than $70 a night. They also decided not to tell us because they were hoping we’d just accept the $70 worth of service for our $213 payment. We literally found out when the access card wouldn’t work to gain entry to the amenities we’d paid for. They ignored our texts asking for help, but we found a maid that told us we wouldn’t be allowed access to what we purchased.

They knew knew that demanding our refund would keep that money tied up and potentially risk ruining our weekend if we couldn’t find a quick alternative with the time and money we had left, so they just decided to put us in a bad position and lower the quality of our weekend together regardless of the outcome.

We’re stubborn though and we decided not to be defrauded, so we left. My wife and I understand that things come up and life’s not always perfect. But they knew that they wouldn’t be there for days and they decided that it was likely more profitable not to tell us until our backs were against the wall.

If they had just been willing to do the moral, decent thing we probably wouldn’t have stayed there given the state of the place, but we would have at least considered trying again in the future once they’d cleaned up and made it presentable. They also elected not to tell us about the various construction projects that would take away from the experience, but we never even got that far because of the attempt to take our money without providing the service we paid for. I can’t imagine doing this to anyone that’s trying to plan a special weekend with their loved ones.

If you value your time, your money, and the rare moments that you get to spend with the ones you love, just keep in mind that these people are completely comfortable taking your money and leaving you with an un-usable, inaccessible dump.

So happy we stumbled upon this place. It was so serene and beautiful. Makes you never want to leave! I manage a successful business and can say from experience that the best businesses are made by good people. I can tell that Ann-one of the owners- is good people. She was very attentive and kind. Ms. Becky checked us in and was simply lovely and warm. We felt very welcomed by everyone. We will definitely be returning!

We absolutely loved our stay at River Wellness Lodge. The rooms are very comfortable, and sitting riverside on the deck of the lodge was so relaxing and peaceful. I only wish we had time to stay more than the one night that we did.

Ann and Paul are great hosts, and we look forward to our return!

Received a very friendly welcoming from Paul on arrival. We immediately felt comfortable, and the place was just beautiful. We truly enjoyed being there. We were blessed to have the opportunity to get to know Paul and Ann, we consider our time chatting with them as one of the gold nuggets of our weekend. We came to relax, and this place delivered. Ann also makes delicious treats and has them out to enjoy! Special thanks Ann. River Wellness Lodge was amazing! The therapies were unique. We enjoyed trying the various machines & learning about them. The food was delicious & healthy. We loved meeting people from around the world. We really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Kayaking was enjoyable. Starting each day with deep breathing & encouraging teachings energized us.

If I could put 10 stars, I would! Nothing sums up our stay better than saying it was a dream. Every detail Paul & Ann put into this beautiful lodge is noticeable! Exceptionally clean, peaceful, serene, romantic, relaxing….I could go on and on! We were their very first air B&B guest and they were BY FAR the kindest, most considerate, thoughtful & personable, host I’ve even encountered. Ann’s love for serving others is obvious and stems from a biblical foundation. Throughout the lodge are sentiment details representing our Lord and Savior. The efforts they showered us with will forever be burned into our memories. The views are breathtaking, we were generously upgraded to the Panoramic Window Room, from the Premium room. And wow! It was divine! It included a faux fireplace, couch, jacuzzi bathtub, open double shower, king and queen sinks, full size dresser/closet, private entrance and deck. The lodge also offers and AMAZING spa room which we will engage in when we have more time during our next stay! The river was beautiful and the lodge had kayaks available, which we also plan to take advantage of when the weather warms up. 100/100 recommend! We can’t thank Paul and Ann enough, our hearts are so full!

A great learning experience! I highly recommend it to everyone; particularly if you're interested in improving your health and lifestyle. The accommodations were outstanding, the various tests performed were enlightening, and the food was healthy and tasty. A retreat that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed and plan to repeat in the future.
