Going to Cove Haven and staying in the Champagne Tower room has been a dream of mine since the early 80s. After 20 years being married my husband and I were able to take our first "couples trip" and while it was only 1 night it was fantastic. ok so the resort wasn't built in this century lol but it holds history and tradition. How wonderful to feel celebrated just for loving your human. Plus everyone needs a little kitsch in their lives! Sometimes it's good not too take life too seriously and just enjoy yourselves. Our room was clean and everything worked wonderfully! That was all that mattered. We are already planning on returning at the end of February for our 21st anniversary (since we've never actually been able to have a honeymoon) for 2 nights because 1 night for a first time just wasnt enough time to experience all Cove Haven has to offer! A special bonus was the dinner entertainment a gentleman named Pete Begley, who played a wonderful instrument called a Chapman Stick he was flawless and very friendly even went around the dining room tovevery table and not only asked if anyone had requests but engaged in conversation while playing (I am a musician, that is a very difficult almost impossible task) Everyone we encountered guest and team members alike were ALL warm and welcoming to us which, to me, having worked in food service and retail management is more important then thr product. Generally if you have happy friendly guests it is because you have happy friendly team members. absolutely the best hotel stay ever!

Very lgbtq friendly. The staff is very nice. The only issue we had was when it's windy outside, don't light the fireplace, it was being blown back into the room, and the room was very smokey. Also, the pool water level was below the filter, so it was not filtering the water and was loud. Other than that, everything was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be back. Best honeymoon ever

Hotel room was awesome. We saw the magician and he was very funny. Purchased the dinner and breakfast. The dinners were bad. Breakfast buffet was great. I’d eat prior to going next time. Other than the dinners I’d highly recommend. Staff was very friendly & inviting.

This place VASTLY exceeded my expectations. The pictures of the room online didnt do it justice! I stayed in the Champaign room and it was so nice— the heated pool was huge and the lights were beautiful. The food was delicious I’d— would highly recommend doing the breakfast/dinner package. There were endless activities at the resort, and a lot of ski places within an hour drive. Would HIGHLY recommend, it was one of the best vacations I’d ever been on.

My champagne tower review:

$450 a night is kinda steep if it's not going to be maintained better than a 1 star "pay by the hour" motel. There was broken mirrors, chipping enamel and yellow mineral build up in the champagne tower tub, everything was just kind of messed up from decades of use, and the mattress wasn't comfy and dipped in the middle funneling us towards each other (i like that but she did not after long) which caused us to sleep horribly and therefore needed extra sleep before the 3 hour drive home, so we had to pay an extra $117 for late checkout. All together paid over $550. I know it's old but surely the place brings in enough money to update and maintain things to make it the best it can be?

I can see the expenses of maintaining the pool and housekeeping costs, so if it were actually nice the price would be appropriate.

The best part was the Dinners and breakfast.
Plus, feeding the deer was cool.
Our room needed a paint job; the pool ladder hurt my feet. No nonslip mats anywhere; my wife slipped hard and hurt herself by the hot tub. The pool tile needs grout work—room 114. We were there by 3 pm to check in and still had to wait an hour for our room to be clean. We still had to call them to clean the hot tub. It was nasty.
It is not really set up for more prominent (bigger) people or disabled people.
I will say we were there
In December, maybe in summer, it would be more fun. The whole place needs a deep clean & paint job. It requires love from the people who keep it up and work there. It is a shame we spent good money on a day's stay.

Had great time at this resort. We had a Juliette room which was very clean . All of the staff was very friendly and took great care of us. The entertainment the night we were there was great. The band sounded great and the comedian was great as well.breakfast and dinner was wonderful. The only thing I would recommend is too have the hot tub by the pool a little hotter. Overall experience was great.

Great time awesome food, really good. Chris the waiter is a gem very friendly and an incredible waiter.. drawbacks, We wish the sauna in our garden apple room worked. The main building hot tub was not hot or warm. Only 2 of 4 duck pin bowling lanes was working but a fun time playing. The deer are fun to feed. And the staff is very friendly. We had a great time overall. A little TLC in a few places needed ..this place has history and is a Pocono gem still all these years later. Thanks to everyone who works so hard to keep this place alive and fun
