This hotel is outdated and there was construction going on in the first floor area. Though it is outdated, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable.
The front staff were welcoming and very helpful when we encountered an issue and had to switch rooms. The cookies they gave out was also delicious!
Breakfast was a disappointment. Both my husband and I had upsets stomachs from what we ate. Buffet was not available so we ordered from the menu.

Went to a company Christmas party at this hotel. The entrance is not the best at the moment since they are doing construction. The front people were not welcoming at all, not even a hello was said. But they do have the best cookies.
Very close proximity to the airport and in front of a jack in the box
They decorated nice for the party. The waitress ladies were very nice too

The hotel is dated but very clean, I believe that they are in the process of renovating the property. Everyone here has been extremely polite and helpful. The restaurant offers some pretty tasty food and the bar across the hall is very cozy. It is right across the street from the airport but nowhere near a runway so there is no noise.

The hotel is undergoing some renovation but the service was still excellent. Front desk, shuttle driver, etc. were all friendly and helpful. Big shout to the staff of the Boardwalk restaurant. Excellent service and delicious food .

Let's start with the room. Now I didn't know that there were 2 sections of the hotel. One building where you check-in has 7 floors. I didn't stay in that one because it was more expensive. When I chose my own room on the app. It shows that for a little $, you can upgrade to that building. Since it was for one night and I wanted to save a few bucks , I didn't upgrade. The room I'd chosen was in the second building. It has only 3 floors. It's also where the outdoor swimming pool is located. The room is outdated, and it smells. It's like the filter hasn't been changed. And the carpet is dingy. There were dust particles on the bed and some on the glass tables. I wanted to complain, but again, it was only for 1 night.
What I did like about my stay was the breakfast buffet. I had a food credit for being a Hilton member. I enjoyed the variety of selections. The service was great. My server was Oneyda (I hope I spelled it right). She was very friendly and nice.
The location is closed to Hobby airport. I think there is a free shuttle. The parking lot is gated except for the entrance. I saw a security car at night on patrol. So that's good. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay. It could be better, though. If the rooms are updated or better maintained.

For the price I was expecting a lot more. We had to pay $20 for a mediocre breakfast bar. Rooms are dated. Bathroom is literally rusty. Very narrow entrance and check in is SUPER slow. Positives: linens and bed were great and the view from the 5th floor toward the airport in the morning was very nice.

The hotel is under construction so I would expect some noise and inconveniences. However, starting drilling, sawing and hammering at 7:30am in a hotel is a bit ridiculous! The first morning, Saturday, we didn’t get in until 2:30am. We were woken by the construction directly 1 floor below us (on floor 2) at 7:30am!! Called the desk and they were very sorry. They didn’t expect work crews on a Saturday. Ok fair enough, but we are staying 3 nights which means Monday would be our check out day. Were you not expecting crews on Monday or planning to move us in the middle of our stay? Anyway, they very nicely moved us on Saturday to a room on the 9th and top floor. Now about the rooms. The fridges aren’t actually fridges. There is a sign on them saying they are only meant to cool things slightly. Really?! What year are we living in Our room has no microwave. Ok I get it, things break. But that’s why you have back ups to replace it. Now on to Monday morning, our check out day. Construction started at 7:30am with drilling, sawing and hammering. 7 floors away (as far as possible) I could still hear it loud and clear! If there isn’t enough insulation between floors to dull the sound 7 floors away you shouldn’t be starting that early!! Never mind it’s a hotel where people come to sleep! 7:30am is just straight up too early. 8am rolls around, housekeeping knocks on the door!! We are checking out today. If we haven’t checked out yet there is a good bet we are probably still in the room!! Come on now, this isn’t rocket science. Why do you start knocking on doors to perform housekeeping at 8am!! You can’t tell me there is no way to run a list that tells you what rooms aren’t occupied so you can start there and not wake people up!! I’ve stayed at high class hotels and the cheapest of the cheap. Double tree, in my experience, has always been a great hotel chain. After this experience I’m going to think VERY seriously about trusting them with my service again. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had!!

Stayed here in Nov 2024. The property lobby area was going through renovation. The property is aged and been here for a while, but as a brand of Hilton and as a DoubleTree it was well kept and managed. The help as good and the service perfect. There are a couple eating places on the property. Did not dine so do not know if they were any good. The hallways and the rooms were well managed and kept and clean. Was satisfied with it and the style and decor. This is right next to the airport and as such very convienient for travelers. Would stay here again when in he area.
