We stayed here for a second time (first was Easter 2023) in a 3-bed lake house. We wanted to relax and enjoy time with family after a busy holiday season. This did not disappoint. House is lovely, tree was a huge bonus! Warm, comfortable and clean we couldn't be happier. We made meals, sat on the deck, watched the local deer, sat in front of the fire place and played games. Lodge and grounds were decorated beautifully for the holidays. A great trip. Would love to return.

My wife and I enjoyed hanging out in the bar relaxing after a very long drive from Florida to PA… we had no plan on staying but our EV needed charging and the snow was piling on so we said let’s check rates…i
The desk person gave us a great rate to stay the night so we immediately checked in and loved it!! Plus the EV charging was free🎉

Stonewall was a lovely extended getaway from DC for me and my dog. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed the trails through the area. Accommodations in the lodge are a bit dated with fixtures and appliances a little rough around the edges (sink was leaky and coffee machine was broken) — but overall comfortable. The cottage was WONDERFUL. Very cozy with a soft couch, ample dining space, and a fireplace. We had a beautiful view of the lake. The staff is very friendly and the food from the restaurants (all of mine came through room service) was tasty. Stonewall provides great value for the price.

This was our second visit to Stonewall Resort. We will definitely be back! We've stayed in both the lake houses and cottages. Highly recommend either! The cottages are pet friendly so we'll most likely choose that option on our next stay. The lake is beautiful! Lots of activities in the resort and amenities at the lodge.

Stonewall Resort: A Winter Wonderland with Exceptional Service

Our stay at Stonewall Resort was exceptional. While the facility itself was as expected, it was the phenomenal service that set this place apart.

We arrived to a picturesque rural West Virginia scene—over a foot of snow blanketing the ground, with another 6 inches on the way. Excited to embrace the rare winter conditions, we asked the front desk where to rent snowshoes. Their response was refreshingly honest: it hadn't snowed like this in six years, so they weren’t sure but promised to figure it out.

True to their word, less than an hour later, we received a call letting us know they had found snowshoes for us. Not only were they available—at no charge—but they were top-of-the-line and in impeccable condition. We used them for two unforgettable days exploring the snowy trails. Who does that? Stonewall Resort, that’s who.

And the surprises didn’t stop there. Having forgotten our bathing suits, we braced ourselves for overpriced replacements. Instead, we were delighted to find the cost was half what we expected, making our time in the uncrowded outdoor sauna and heated pool even sweeter.

Stonewall Resort, you exceeded every expectation. Your proactive, can-do attitude turned a cozy winter getaway into an extraordinary experience. Five glowing stars—thank you for going above and beyond. (Pics while snowshoeing attached.)

It was a wonderful couple Christmas/Winter experience. My wife and I loved the outdoor heated pool, which was a special experience on a cold winter day. The lobby was beautifully decorated. Ended the night with S'mores by the fire. Had an amazing stay!
