A Magical Stay We Will Never Forget!

From the moment we arrived, this hotel exceeded all our expectations. We booked a luxurious suite for our stay, and it turned out to be the perfect place to propose to my now-fiancĂ©e. The suite was impeccably designed, with breathtaking views and every amenity we could ask for—it truly set the stage for one of the most memorable moments of our lives.

We had our wedding next door at Park Chateau, so we stayed 2 nights at The Chateau Grande Hotel. The location is great, as it is right next to the venue, and we loved our stay! Not only is a beautiful property, the staff was fantastic, Alison helped us with all of our requests prior and during our stay. We had a stunning suite with comfortable bed, sheets and towels. Our guests also complimented the hotel, everything was amazing!!

We recently hosted a Friendsgiving brunch at the hotel, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Hope was exceptional—she guided us through the event planning process, assisted with menu selection, and was always available to address any questions we had. The food was outstanding, with the avocado toast being a personal favorite. Cristiano and Shane were also incredibly helpful, ensuring everything ran smoothly. I highly recommend this venue for any occasion and look forward to hosting another event here in the future!

Ben Shaffer Recreation recently hosted our company holiday party at Chateau Grande and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel and restaurant staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The food and drinks were exceptional! The staff at bliss salon and spa were professional, attentive and created a tranquil atmosphere perfect for a massage.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our team members!

I had a deeply disappointing experience at this hotel when I visited to see their banquet hall for my husband's 50th birthday party. I made an appointment for a 30-minute consultation. Once I arrived, the host only spent about 10 minutes with me, which felt incredibly rushed and dismissive.

The entire interaction made me feel ignored and uncomfortable. The host focused more on emphasizing how expensive everything was rather than addressing my questions or needs. To make matters worse, there was a clear sense of racism in the way I was treated, which made the situation even more unpleasant.

Overall, this was a very negative experience, and I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. The lack of respect and poor customer service (by sales manager- Hope S) was completely unacceptable.

I gave one star to post my review.

We could never get into their WiFi. Called the front desk several times and they couldn't help us. Our shower leaked and the maintenance team said they fixed it. They did not. Water all over the floor multiple times. We only stayed two nights and I was not impressed at their hotel accommodations.

The wedding we attended was wonderful. Their attendees were polite, the venue gorgeous, and food delicious.

Chateau Grande, New Brunswick, NJ - A Mixed Experience

I recently stayed at the Chateau Grande in New Brunswick, NJ for two nights while attending a wedding. While the property has potential, it falls short of the “high-end” experience it seems to aspire to offer.

Check-In and Initial Impressions

Check-in was smooth, and the staff was courteous. However, I noticed an absence of the little details that typically set luxury hotels apart. For instance, while I prefer to handle my own luggage, no one opened the door or offered assistance. Small touches like this make a significant difference when you’re paying for an upscale experience, and their absence left me underwhelmed.

The Room

The accommodations were a bright spot. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed was plush, and the space was thoughtfully designed. If the rest of the hotel matched the standard of the rooms, it might have lived up to my initial expectations.

Breakfast Frustrations

The morning of the wedding, I took my toddler downstairs to their small café, which serves Starbucks. Unfortunately, there was only one employee juggling front desk duties and café service. While she was helpful and polite, the situation quickly became chaotic as more guests arrived.

To make matters worse, the cafĂ© was out of most pastry items. I eventually ordered a plain bagel, which was handed to me as-is—no cream cheese, no butter. The hotel charges a nightly amenity fee of $29.95, but there was no clear explanation of what this covered. No one informed me about any amenities, and I couldn’t identify anything during my stay that warranted the additional charge. This lack of transparency was frustrating.

On a positive note, the wedding venue was beautiful, and the event was well-executed. The staff working the wedding were attentive, but their demeanor occasionally came across as brusque. A touch more finesse in guest interactions would go a long way.

2 star review that should have been a 5 star.

Let me start by saying the hotel is beautiful and one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. That is quickly overshadowed though by the staff at the front desk. Customer service is not first, it’s last. You will get nowhere with them in regard to something wrong with your bill or stay.

When we checked in, we were asked to put a credit card on file. I asked why, as we already paid for the one night stay on expedia or booking.com and they told me they normally have a resort fee but I already paid through the online platform so I wouldn’t be receiving that fee. The next day, we asked for a late checkout, they said no, fine no problem. We then come down to check out and about an hour later, I recieve a charge on my credit card for a resort fee, the same fee I was told I would not be paying. I went and talked to a lady at the front desk who was not only rude, but refused to listen and take accountability for it. I believed I should not have received that fee as I discussed with a different staff member at check in and she told me I would not receive the fee. The fee is $32 which is nothing, and I asked again to have it credited back and this lady at the front who I assume is the manager, refused. I told her I would write this review, and asked her how much she thought the owner would pay to have the review not written, and instead have a 5 star? The $32 dollars was more important to her, and so this review stands.

This definitely soured our stay here and we were considering having our wedding here too as it’s gorgeous, but the staff is rude and inconsiderate, and literally was the catalyst to a negative review. Such a bummer and could have been a 5 star review instead.
