The room was so nice, clean & comfortable! The bed was like a cloud! I slept amazingly! The bathroom was so up to date! The shower was huge! The view was beautiful. The only thing I could say was the balcony didn’t have chairs. We had to request them which was fine. They let us know that they are redoing the balconies & parts of the hotel.

Below is my original review which I had only given 2 stars, however, I received a call from the manager of the spa who was kind, gracious and not allowing my review or feedback to fall on deaf ears. Donna is probably the biggest asset to the Wave Spa, as her professionalism is something that I truly appreciated. Her faith in the company that she works for and the hope to make positive changes moving forward in a business she enjoys and respects was appreciated.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
The massages were good however the “spa” is not a spa. The relaxation room was dirty and very small with 4 arm chairs and some flavored water and trail mix. It was lackluster, dreary and didn’t even have an aromatherapy smell for relaxation as many, if not most, spa waiting rooms do. The ladies locker room had a sink with some toiletries, a 1 stall toilet and a shower literally next to a bank of 20 or so lockers. There wasn’t a steam room or anything that an upscale spa has. Not a big enough bathroom for more than 2 people to be in at the same time.

My husband and I were brought in to the “couples room” for our massages. I had an aromatherapy massage and he had a deep tissue with hot stones. The beds were cold, not heated at all. The room was just that…a blank room with 2 beds which were made up with white linens and a dated drape to keep the light out. Unfortunately, the drapes could barely keep the light out and they absolutely couldn’t keep the excessive noise out ranging from ambulances and police vehicles, to loud DJ music from the bar by the carousel and the excessive crowd banter. Needless to say, though our massage therapists were good, there was absolutely no relaxation for our 80 minutes of laying there. Upon checkout, the 20% gratuity was automatically added along with a service fee that I was told was mandatory by the state of NJ. (My husband and I frequently have massages and I had never heard of that service fee. Also, I probably would’ve given an additional gratuity but being told what to give and giving it because it is deserved are two different things, so unfortunately our therapists were short changed due to their “rule”). Upon checking in, we received complimentary valet, which was great since parking would’ve been a nightmare. The attendants at valet were kind and efficient.

I am a local and really wanted my husband and I to enjoy this experience so we would have a place close to home to frequent. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend and will never go back.

Recently celebrated my birthday with a couples massage gifted to me by my husband. From the time we entered to the time we left, we felt pampered by the entire staff. Donna at reception is so genuinely nice and made us feel like we were her only clients! Sophia was an exceptional masseuse and my husband said Rheena was very professional and a great masseuse as well! Thanks to all for making my birthday so special: chilling the champagne, beautiful rose petals and Happy Birthday sign). Since we live just blocks away, it will surely be our new escape!

Last year I was not happy and I wrote a bad review. I went back this year and I was gobsmacked! It is absolutely brilliant! The spa manager has made this place a little heaven. I kept coming back for different procedures and every time everything was top nice. My friends started going for massages and we are all very happy. I honestly highly recommend this place

They were able to work us in for a last minute couples massage on our honeymoon... The staff was so accommodating and thoughtful, they even greeted us with a "Welcome Newlyweds" sign. Our massages were some of the best we've ever had! Relaxing and soothing with just the right amount of pressure. Emily was especially wonderful!
