We came here for my wife’s birthday; I bought the birthday package with the concierge option. Our room was decorated for my wife’s birthday with a sign on the door, balloons, cake and other complimentary things. The water park was outstanding and very large. The dining options were great, as well. We went to the steakhouse and Mexican restaurant; service was outstanding and food was very good. We also had the breakfast buffet which had everything you could want. I highly recommend it, best indoor water resort we have been to.

Always have a great time bringing the family here. Everything is always very clean and the staff are super friendly. Room rates aren't bad for what you are getting.

everything you could possibly need is at the hotel which is great, just wish the food was a bit cheaper. Having the nice restaurants is great, basics like pizza should not be so pricey

The hotel is nice the restaurant we went to (bl burger I believe it was called) was decent. Honestly comparable to Applebee's. The water park is fun for the kids, past it's prime, but still fun. Kid section has some water table attractions not working properly or at all. The statues could use a pick me up.

The Good:|This was our second time at Kalahari. Overall, it is an excellent experience.|We reserved a two bedroom suite which was great for our group of seven. The two bathrooms really helped everyone wash up following our return from the water park.|Everyone's favorite attraction were the hot tub pools. When we were there, it was about 8°F at night. It was an amazing feeling to be in hot water while feeling the cold air over your face.|The rooms were clean and tidy. Housekeeping was superb. Unlike other reviewers, we had no issues with the quality of the mattresses and slept relatively well.|The TVs were great quality, and we were able to enjoy watching sporting events and the news at night.|The restaurants offer fantastic food. The new mac & cheese place is incredible. I wish I could've visited it several more times! My kids, who are picky eaters were always able to find something to their liking.|Our room came with a large fridge, microwave, and table with chairs, which allowed us to enjoy some meals, including breakfast, right in the room.||The Bad and The Ugly|There are several things that would prevent me from becoming a frequent customer. First there is the sense that guests are being "nickeled and dimed." Prices are extraordinarily high for food and merchandise. The constant up-selling and add-ons cheapen the experience. |The breakfast buffet is ridiculously priced, especially given the meager offerings, which I observed while walking past it. For reference, the buffet is $27 per adult and I believe about $17 per child.|I was very disappointed that the completely indoor hot tub has been converted to a private whirlpool cabana. I saw that it was occupied for two out of the three days that we were there. I can understand that over the course of the year it probably generates an extra $200,000 in revenue, which is hard to turn down. However, it left a bad taste in my mouth. My daughter, who is on the spectrum, loved that pool and was less thrilled with the other, now more crowded, hot tubs. |The WiFi was also slow. This is a concern for a resort that caters to children and families. We were unable to play online together at night. I actually found that my cell phone service had a faster connection than the hotel. |I would also suggest a way to convert to smart TVs, which would allow people to access their Netflix and other accounts for movie and TV watching.

This resort is wonderful for families. They have lots of different things to do for everyone. I’ve been coming here since it opened up years ago and the prices have just risen so dramatically, not even counting how they opened the second half years ago, the prices are still just rising. It’s just unaffordable at this point. The food is very overpriced and the quality of it has gone down drastically. It’s greasy and so unhealthy if you’re buying from the cafe. The restaurants themselves aren’t bad, just very pricey. I love the spa 100%. I do love this place I just wish they weren’t so money hungry

The water park is fantastic and the staff in the water park were all very good. The arcade was also pretty nice. The rooms were completely competent. The food was hit or miss, mostly miss.
The one thing I would recommend is they quit focusing on trying to squeeze every last penny out of their guests. It's exhausting and annoying to be constantly bombarded with "opportunities" to spend even more money.
With that said, we would absolutely return and found much of the experience to be stellar.

Booking a month in advance, especially on weekends, offers a pleasant experience. However, weekdays tend to be more affordable. Each room comes with four water park tickets. If you’re not planning to stay, purchasing discounted 4 p.m. tickets seems like the best option.
